TAYLORSVILLE — Police have identified the man who died Wednesday after crashing into a concrete pump truck on the 4700 South on-ramp to I-215 in Taylorsville.
Utah Highway Patrol officials said a concrete pump truck was disabled in traffic due to losing a tire at the on-ramp. Sgt. Cameron Roden said troopers were on scene directing traffic when an approaching GMC pickup truck slammed into the back of the pump truck.
Dan Wooden, 54, of Salt Lake City, was driving the pickup truck and died at the scene. The driver in the stationary pump truck was uninjured.
Traffic was closed for several hours Wednesday as police cleaned up and investigated the scene.
