SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police are looking for a person who they say shot and injured a man Thursday afternoon near 900 South and Montgomery Street.
Police said they received a 911 call at about 3:30 p.m. When paramedics arrived on scene, they found a 29-year-old with a gunshot wound and started rendering medical aid, according to a statement from Salt Lake police.
The man was transported to the hospital in serious condition, but police later said his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police believe the man who was shot and shooter got into an argument prior to the shooting. The shooter ran away before officers arrived, according to the statement, and despite "an exhaustive search of the area," officers had not located that person as of 7 p.m.
This incident was isolated and there is no threat to the community, the statement says.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Salt Lake police at 801-799-3000.
