LEHI — A Lehi man was arrested Tuesday after police say he was distributing large quantities of drugs and operating a lab to cook THC products.

Jose Luis Escobar, 43, was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of operating a clandestine lab, five counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, having materials to operate a clandestine lab and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Utah County Major Crimes Task Force served a warrant on Escobar's home on Tuesday.

"During the search of the residence, detectives located several pounds of methamphetamine, several pounds of marijuana, several pounds of THC edibles, several hundred THC carts, approximately $10,000 in cash, and equipment used to cultivate marijuana plants," according to a police booking affidavit.

Task force members also found equipment for a lab used to cook and press THC dab, which is the concentrated form of cannabis.

"The operation of the clandestine lab was in operation within a residence and within 500 feet of a church," police noted in the affidavit.
