METAIRIE, La. — Saints coach Dennis Allen anticipates being retained for next season and asserts that New Orleans is "not as far off" from contending "as maybe some might think." The Saints went 7-10 this season but also had a handful of seven-win seasons under Super Bowl-winning coach Sean Payton between 2007 and 2016. Allen notes he was part of some Saints teams that went from seven or eight wins one season to the playoffs the next. Allen says he's not ready to discuss potential staff or roster changes but will "turn over every stone" while looking at the club's options at quarterback next season.
