ARCADIA, Calif. — Reincarnate has won the $100,000 Sham Stakes by a neck for trainer Bob Baffert at Santa Anita. Baffert completed a 1-2-3 sweep in the race for 3-year-olds. Juan Hernandez was aboard Reincarnate and they covered 1 mile in 1:35.87. Baffert has won the Sham in seven of the last 10 years. Sent off at 16-1 odds, Reincarnate paid $35 to win, which is an unusually high price for a Baffert-trained horse. Newgate was second and 3-5 favorite National Treasure was third. Spun Intended was pulled up in the latter stages of the race by jockey Mike Smith. The colt was vanned off the track and there was no immediate word on his condition.
