LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Joe Girard III scored 28 points and Syracuse survived a frantic final eight seconds to edge Louisville 70-69. Syracuse's Judah Mintz raced up the court with an inbounds pass but lost the ball to El Ellis, who went the other way but had the ball tipped away from behind by Jesse Edwards with the game ending with a scramble on the floor. Mintz scored 16 points and Edwards had 12 points with 11 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season along with four blocks. Ellis had 20 points and nine assists for the Cardinals. Mike James had four 3-pointers and 19 points.
