SALT LAKE CITY — Welcome to bowl season!

If you thought you did well during the regular season, the bowl games are where you earn true bragging rights. I mean, only the fiercest competitors can keep up with all the opt-outs and injuries, the coaching changes and motivation (or lack thereof), and still pick correctly.

That's the challenge ahead of you over the next few weeks. Think people will care that you finished the regular season ranked No. 1 but dropped to No. 5 after the bowl games were played? Nope, don't even try to spin it any other way.

This is where true fans (and predictors) are made!

In all seriousness, enjoy the next few weeks, because bowl games have a tendency to go anything but planned. We won't make you pick the scores for all the games out there, but we have 15 of some of our favorite matchups we want you to guess.

Can you stay on top? Will you make a comeback from last to first? Time will tell, so good luck. Oh, and just as a reminder, each bowl game is worth 100 points instead of the regular 50 points during the season.

Think you can do better than us? Go make your picks if you haven't already!

Each week's first-, second- and third-place winners will get a $100, $70 and $30 Visa gift card, respectively, courtesy of Goldenwest Credit Union. The overall winners of Pick'em will receive a $500 gift card for first place, a $250 gift card for second place and a $100 gift card for third place.

Each week, we release the KSL.com sports staff picks for you to see. Can you do a better job than us? Probably, but that's the fun of it all.

This week's games are as follows, all times MST:

  • No. 14 Oregon State vs. Florida (Dec. 17, 12:30 p.m., ESPN)
  • Fresno State vs. Washington State (Dec. 17, 1:30 p.m., ABC)
  • BYU vs. SMU (Dec. 17, 5:30 p.m., ABC)
  • Boise State vs. North Texas (Dec. 17, 7:15 p.m., ESPN)

So head on over to KSL.com Pick'em and fill out your weekly ballot.
