SALT LAKE CITY — Two brothers have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Salt Lake City earlier this month.
On Sept. 16, police say a man was shot in the leg during a fight near 555 W. 400 North.
Nay Blu Soe, 19, was arrested Friday for investigation of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury, two counts of discharge of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a restricted person and drug possession with intent to distribute. His brother, Klothayu Say, 22, was arrested for investigation of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury.
After their arrests, Salt Lake police served search warrants on both Soe's car and home. In his car, detectives found 27 pre-rolled marijuana joints that Soe is believed to be selling on social media, a police booking affidavit states, and a gun was also found in his home.
In February, Soe was arrested for investigation of five counts of being a restricted person in possession of a gun after police found handguns and rifles in his house, including an AR-15, a 7.62x39 rifle, and a Glock 19 with a tactical light, according to a police booking affidavit. Police said Soe was convicted of robbery in 2020, as a juvenile, making it illegal for him to possess a gun.
