Andrew Adams reportingPop icon Madonna's latest concert prop is drawing ire, in part because it could be included in a TV special this fall. The concert includes a scene of the Material Girl up on a cross, wearing a crown of light thorns. It's planned to air on NBC, but don't expect to see it on Channel 5.

Bruce Brand of Bountiful is one of many Christians fired up about the act. "She's up on a cross, with her arms outstretched, wearing a crown of thorns. That offends me," he says. He's emailed Channel 5, pleading with the station not to air it. "I think that NBC, and certainly KSL, would be sensitive to something like that."

"We've called NBC and let them know of our concerns," says KSL-TV Director of Programming Michelle Kettle. She says even NBC is rethinking whether it will carry the scene. "We're waiting to hear from NBC on that before we can make a decision about what we'll do." Kettle says a decision could come down within a couple weeks.
