SANDY — A woman who was kicked out of a party has been charged for allegedly tracking down the man who kicked her out and, with the help another man, shooting him, according to prosecutors.

Alliyah Samitioata Moana Molifua-Freeeman, 20, of Taylorsville, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with aggravated assault resulting in serious injury, a second-degree felony.

Semaj Deshawn Davis, 22, of Kearns, was charged with discharge of a firearm causing serious injury, a first-degree felony; and aggravated assault resulting in serious injury and possession of a gun by a restricted person, both second-degree felonies. Prosecutors are seeking gang enhancement penalties for each of the charges. Davis is also accused of shooting at another man outside a second hotel two days later.

On July 10, Sandy police were called to the Extended Stay motel, 10715 S. Auto Mall Drive, on a report of a shooting. They arrived to find a man shot in the stomach, according to charging documents. His injuries were not life-threatening, police stated.

The victim's friend told detectives that a few weeks before the shooting, he and the victim were holding a party at the motel. During the party, "a female became disrespectful, and he was forced to kick her out," the charges state. But on July 9, while the victim and his friend were in Salt Lake City, they ran into the woman, Molifua-Freeeman, again.

"The female began to yell at him for kicking her out," according to the charges.

The men returned to the motel after the argument. While they were out front, Molifua-Freeeman drove up with two other men, the charges state. She again started arguing with the victim about being kicked out of the party. That's when one of the men who was behind Molifua-Freeeman grabbed a gun from her purse, approached the victim and shot him in the stomach, the charges state.

Molifua-Freeeman claims Davis had followed her to the motel in a separate car, according to the charges. She told detectives that after the shooting, she met up with Davis somewhere off of Interstate 15, where he "told her he threw the gun out on the freeway. Freeman said it was at this point that Davis told her 'She better not talk, or she knows what will happen,'" the charges state.

Davis was arrested two days later, after allegedly getting into an argument with another man at a Comfort Inn, 2229 W. City Center Court, and then shooting at him while chasing him around the parking lot, according to police. No injuries were reported. Davis was charged on July 14 in 3rd District Court with possession of a weapon by a restricted person, a second-degree felony; discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony; and intoxication, a class C misdemeanor.
