SALT LAKE CITY — A 33-year-old man died from injuries he received Friday when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle Friday evening near 1700 South and 700 East, police said Saturday.

About 8:11 p.m., police received a call about a crash involving a motorcyclist and a Chevy Malibu. When officers arrived they located a man with critical head injuries on the ground.

The man as transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. His name has not yet been released pending notification of kin.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcyclist collided with the passenger side of the Malibu as it turned onto 1700 South from 700 East, according to a statement from Salt Lake police.

The diver of the Malibu remained at the scene and was cooperating with police.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Police said Friday's crash was the 15th traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City this year.
