SANDY — Police are asking for the public's help locating a man who they say recently tried to lure two children into his vehicle.
One incident occurred on Monday, June 6, and the other on Thursday, June 9. Both happened in the area between 11000 South and 11400 South, and east of 700 East, according to Sandy police.
Police say the man shown in the photos they released was driving a silver Volkswagen Tiguan.
A woman who said she is the mother of one of the children wrote in a Facebook post that the man was "trying to get (her daughter) to his car by offering money," and that her daughter "ran away and remembered what she has been taught." She added the importance of educating children on safety with strangers, saying that the incident was "absolutely terrifying."
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sandy police at 801-799-3000.
