KAYSVILLE — A Davis County bank was damaged after a car burst through a door and wall Monday night.
At 8:37 p.m., police and fire crews were called to the scene of a crash at a Wells Fargo bank at 250 N. Main Street, according to a Facebook post from the Kaysville Fire Department. First responders arrived to find that a Tesla car had driven through part of a wall and door into the bank.
The car was traveling north when the driver "failed to negotiate a turn," then left the roadway and hit the building, the fire department said in the post. Kaysville Fire Chief Paul Erickson told KSL.com that the car also hit a fire hydrant before hitting the bank.
Paramedics evaluated those who were in the car when it crashed, and all occupants were released at the scene. Kaysville police worked to secure the building after the crash.
Erickson didn't know how much the damage to the bank could cost, but he did say Tuesday that the fire hydrant alone will likely cost $5,000 to replace. It was unclear when the bank could reopen to the public.
