PROVO — University Parkway in Provo is reopened after a bus driver was injured early Wednesday after a crash.
University Parkway was closed for several hours between University Ave. and Canyon Road, according to the Utah Department of Transportation. It reopened by 10 a.m.
At 5 a.m., a Utah Valley Express bus collided with another vehicle and then crashed into a gas pump and then a motel, Provo Fire and Rescue officials said on Facebook.
"Fortunately, the motel is currently under renovation, so nobody was inside," the agency said.
The bus driver needed to be extricated from the bus and was then taken to the hospital. The extent of the driver's injuries was not immediately available.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital for evaluation, fire officials said.
The Utah Transit Authority is investigating the crash.
