HUNTSVILLE — A 35-year-old man was killed in a skiing accident at Snowbasin Resort on Friday.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday that the man, whose name has not yet been released, was skiing with friends about 3 p.m. Friday when he had a collision on the mountain. The Ogden Standard Examiner reported that the man crashed into a weather station near a tree.
The incident marks the third fatal skiing accident on Utah's slopes in less than two weeks, and the second of the weekend.
On Sunday, a 14-year-old boy died after colliding with another skier at Alta ski resort. On Feb. 3, Dr. Andrew Gagnon, 38, a transplant surgeon, died after going over a 100-foot cliff at Solitude Mountain Resort and then rolling through rocks and trees for another 500 to 600 feet.
