1. Tsunami threat recedes from huge Pacific volcanic eruption

The tsunami threat around the Pacific from a huge undersea volcanic eruption began to recede Sunday, while the extent of damage to Tonga remained unclear. Satellite images showed the spectacular eruption that took place Saturday evening, with a plume of ash, steam and gas rising like a mushroom above the blue Pacific waters.

2. 4 injured following wrong-way crash on I-215 in Salt Lake City

Four people were injured, one person in critical condition, after a wrong-way crash between a car and semitruck Sunday morning.

3. British man identified as hostage-taker at Texas synagogue

Authorities on Sunday identified a 44-year-old British national as the man who took four people hostage at a Texas synagogue for 10 hours before an FBI SWAT team stormed the building, ending a tense standoff that President Joe Biden called "an act of terror."

4. Overnight visitors restricted in Intermountain hospitals under new COVID policy

Intermountain Healthcare announced that its visitation policy is going to be temporarily tightened on Tuesday in response to the spread of the omicron variant of COVID-19.

5. COVID test lines shorter after reservation system installed

Getting a nasal swab isn't the most comfortable feeling in the world; however, at least one aspect of getting a COVID test in Herriman these days isn't so painful anymore. Some say the line that used to take over two hours, only lasted around six minutes on Saturday.

1. Jazz collapse in the final quarter in loss to Lakers

Los Angeles held the Jazz to 17 points in the fourth quarter to come back from a 10-point second-half deficit to beat Utah 101-95 Monday at Crypto.com Arena.

2. Locals in the NFL Playoffs: 49ers ease by Cowboys; Fred Warner's ankle injury 'low-grade'

The biggest question mark out of the Niners' camp also came on defense — specifically from former BYU linebacker Fred Warner, who finished with five tackles.

3. What a road split with Gonzaga, San Francisco means for BYU basketball

To date, BYU has responded as well as anyone in the country to heartbreak. In three seasons under Pope, the Cougars have yet to suffer back-to-back defeats in the regular season.

4. Arizona State hands Utah 6th straight loss 64-62

Jalen Graham scored six of Arizona State's final nine points and the Sun Devils beat Utah 64-62 on Monday for the Utes' sixth straight loss.

5. BYU's Lamb, Tuiaki reportedly among early candidates for open Hawaii job
