SALT LAKE CITY — What a final week of the regular season of college football. Hopefully you got an opportunity to catch some of the big games while you took a break from napping off the turkey and stuffing.
And though we're drawing closer to the end of the season, there's still a lot to do with KSL.com College Football Pick'em. Last week, Utes fan Melissa Mifflin claimed the top prize with 221 points out of a possible 250 — not a bad weekend at all. BYU fans Thayne Cowan (213 points) and Randy Wright (212 points) rounded out the top three.
The biggest upset of the week came in the early (and snowy) rivalry game between Ohio State and Michigan. Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines had never beaten the Buckeyes, and Ohio State was coming off an impressive win, so it's no wonder that 82% of all picks were on the Buckeyes. But Michigan smothered Ohio State and pulled away for a big win to start the weekend off with chaos.
To the 18% of people that picked Michigan to win, congrats!
As for the other games for Pick'em, the team with a majority of the picks came out on top this week. Oklahoma State had the highest number of picks against the favorite to win, though it was only 26% of all picks.
Here's looking to a great week of conference championship games!
For Week 13, BYU fans came out on top with an average earned score of 28.2, followed by Utah State at 26.8 and Utah finishing in a distant third with 26.4. For the season, BYU fans remain the team to beat with an average of 21.7, but Utah fans are closing the gap at 21.1 and Utah State at 20.9.
Each week's first-, second- and third-place winners will get a $100, $70 and $30 Visa gift card, respectively, courtesy of Goldenwest Credit Union. The overall winners of Pick'em will receive a $500 gift card for first place, a $250 gift card for second place and a $100 gift card for third place.
Below are the results from Week 13, including the updated leaderboard from the KSL.com Sports group.
