SALT LAKE CITY — Two Utah State fans and a Utah fan ended Week 1 above everyone else in the KSL.com College Football Pick'em after a crazy weekend of football.
None crazier than Utah State upsetting Washington State to claim the first win of Blake Anderson's coaching tenure for the Aggies. Only 23.1% of Utah State fans predicting the Aggies to get a win over their Pac-12 opponent (10% of total picks had the Aggies); but it paid off in the end, especially for William Larson (192 points) and Christine Whittle (187 points), both Aggies fans who claim the top prize.
Utah fan Tim Drake claimed the third-best score of Pick'em after Utah earned a 40-17 win over FCS opponent Weber State — a game 99.8% of Utah fans picked in favor of the Utes. BYU held off Arizona to claim a 24-16 win at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, which was in line with 96.9% of the BYU fans who picked the Cougars to get a season-opening win.
The two other games featured in Pick'em saw upsets among the picks, with UCF and Georgia coming out on top. A total of 49% of people picked UCF to win — not too much of an upset — but only 28% of voters expected Georgia to win.
For the season, BYU is in first with a 19.2 average score, followed by Utah at 19.1 and Utah State at 18.5.
