KSL.com Pick'em: BYU fans, Utah fan claim top prizes in Week 5

SALT LAKE CITY — It was another chaotic week of college football, but BYU can away from the week unscathed again. And now the Cougars are 5-0 and have bragging rights over both in-state programs.

As a result, two BYU fans claimed the top two prizes this week, with a Utah fan winning a tiebreaker for third place. BYU fans Eddie Wright (260 points) and Randy Miller (254 points) finished atop the weekly leaderboard, with Lincoln Baumgartner finishing in a tie with 251 points. He won the tiebreaker for his pick in the BYU-Utah State game.

A majority of picks (91%) had BYU leaving Logan with a win, and a handful of picks had the score picked perfectly. The average points earned for the game was 76 points.

The big upset of the week, according to picks, was Notre Dame falling to Group of Five power Cincinnati. The Bearcats were favored in the game but only 29% of all picks had them winning, with the average points earned being 10 points.

For Week 5, BYU fans remain in the lead with an average earned score of 31.6, followed closely by Utah's 30.2, and in a distant third is Utah State's 26.6. For the season, BYU fans still maintain the lead with an average score earned of 23.1, followed by Utah State's 20.2 and Utah's 19.3.

Each week's first-, second- and third-place winners will get a $100, $70 and $30 Visa gift card, respectively, courtesy of Goldenwest Credit Union. The overall winners of Pick'em will receive a $500 gift card for first place, a $250 gift card for second place and a $100 gift card for third place.
