SALT LAKE CITY — It's Week 3 and BYU and Utah State fans are cleaning up the top prizes again for KSL.com College Football Pick'em.
Both teams are 3-0 on the season and have given their respective fan bases much to cheer about in an already successful season. There's even a chance the two will be undefeated when they meet up on Friday, Oct. 1 for an always entertaining in-state rivalry game.
The wins for BYU and Utah State also resulted in two BYU fans and one Utah State fan scoring the highest points of the week and earning themselves Visa gift cards from Goldenwest Credit Union. BYU fan Glen Turnbow finished in first with a week's score of 211, edging out Utah State fan Mark Broccardo (208) and BYU fan Melanie Shockley (203).

In this week's games, 67% of all picks had BYU beating Arizona State by an average score of 27-25 (the final result was BYU 27-17), and 56% of all picks had Utah State beating Air Force by an average score of 25-25 (a tie). The Aggies, however, managed to score 49 points in the win, and the closest score had it 49-42 (actual score was 49-45).
Utah's loss to San Diego State was the big upset of the weekend as 84% of all picks expected the Utes to get it done against a former Mountain West Conference foe. But for the 16% that picked the Aztecs, it was a good opportunity to earn points while others got none.
The final two national games went as expected with 96% of all picks believing that Alabama would beat Florida, though it was a lot closer than many expected (average score was 37-22), and 74% of all picks putting their trust in Penn State over Auburn.
For Week 3, BYU fans lead with an average earned score of 22.8, followed closely by Utah State's 21.7, and in a distant third is Utah's 18.1. For the season, BYU fans maintain the lead with an average score earned of 20.7, followed by Utah State's 18.1 and Utah's 15.6.
Each week's first-, second- and third-place winners will get a $100, $70 and $30 Visa gift card, respectively, courtesy of Goldenwest Credit Union. The overall winners of Pick'em will receive a $500 gift card for first place, a $250 gift card for second place and a $100 gift card for third place.
