SALT LAKE CITY — For the first time this season, a three-way tie among two BYU fans and a Texas A&M fan led the leaderboard of Week 8 games of KSL.com College Football Pick'em.
But after going through all the tiebreaker scenarios, BYU fan Bob Baum finished in first place for his 48 points scored in the BYU-Washington State game, edging out Texas A&M fan Danielle Turner in second place and Mark Levie in third place. Turner finished in second by having 125 combined local points — BYU, Utah, Utah State games.
The biggest upset of the week was Oregon State beating Utah 42-34 to stay on top of the North division in the Pac-12. Only 13% of all picks had the Beavers coming away with a win on their home field, with the best pick narrowly missing the exact score with a 42-35 prediction.
BYU escaped with its first-ever win in Pullman, Washington, to make it four wins over Power Five programs this season — the first time in school history — netting those who picked the Cougars an average of 31 points this week. But Utah State's dramatic win over Colorado State had the highest average score among picks with 34 points.
This week, BYU fans led the way with an average score of 24.2, followed by Utah State's 23.5 and Utah's 22.4. For the season, BYU fans remain in the lead with an average score of 21.9. The Aggies are 1 point behind at 20.9, narrowly edging out Utah fans with an average season score of 20.7.
