SALT LAKE CITY — A man died in a crash early Friday in Salt Lake City.
About 6:15 a.m., a vehicle passing by the area of 3300 W. 2100 South noticed that a vehicle had struck a tree, Salt Lake police said in a statement.
When officers arrived, they found the man — the vehicle's only occupant — had died.
Crash investigators believe the man was driving east on 2100 South when he lost control of the vehicle near 3300 West and struck the tree on the north side of 2100 South. Police do not know the exact time when the crash occurred.
The man's name has not yet been released as family members are still being notified, police said.
Traffic was blocked on both directions of 2100 South from 3200 West and 3500 West as a crash analysis reconstruction team was on scene investigating the cause.
Anyone who had been in the area and may have seen the crash is asked to call dispatch at 801-799-3000 and reference case number 21-213235.
