DELTA — Criminal charges have been filed against a Delta woman accused of causing a fatal crash.
Leslie Dee Crafts, 61, was charged Thursday in 4th District Court with automobile homicide, a second-degree felony; DUI, a class B misdemeanor; and failure to yield, an infraction.
Just after noon on Oct. 1, Crafts was attempting to cross state Route 6 at 1000 South in Delta when she pulled out directly in front of an oncoming car, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
"The two cars struck each other on the front corners," the UHP stated.
The impact from the collision spun the vehicle that was already traveling on state Route 6 into the path of a pickup truck hauling a horse trailer, and those two vehicles hit nearly head-on, according to the UHP. Mona Ladue, 72, of Lehi, was killed. Two people in the pickup suffered minor injuries.
