It's that time of the year again! The holidays are fast approaching and with it comes a sizable shopping list of food, gifts and other necessities to get you through the next couple of months.

For some people, tracking down that perfect gift online or in stores is a rush and all part of the seasonal fun. Some have everything wrapped, labeled and ready to go months in advance. Others prefer to avoid the retail scene at all costs.

Wherever you fall on the spectrum of shoppers, this is one year when you won't want to procrastinate. Perhaps you've heard the news that there's a backlog of ships and containers waiting along the west coast this year.

"I don't think we've had anything impact our transportation and factories and inventories like COVID since World War II," Scott Webb, associate professor of supply chain management at Brigham Young University told KSL.

With this year's shipping delays, this means inventory may be limited — and prices are likely to rise. To avoid holiday heartache, Forbes reports that experts are advising you to get your shopping done as soon as you can.

In the meantime, why not find out what kind of shopper you are? Take the quiz below and see if the results accurately describe you. Make sure to fill out the form for a chance to win a Minky Couture blanket!
