PROVO — Police are searching for a driver who they say hit an 8-year-old boy and then drove off on Thursday evening.
The crash took place about 5:18 p.m. near 200 N. 800 West, the Provo Police Department said in a Facebook post. The boy was riding his bike when he was hit by a vehicle which immediately drove away, police said.
The boy was taken to a hospital in fair condition with a bloody lip and abrasions on his face, arms and legs, according to police.
Investigators are searching for a newer-model silver Nissan SUV with some minor damage on the front in connection with the incident. Anyone with surveillance cameras that might have captured footage of the vehicle during that time is asked to check their video and contact police at 801-852-6210 with any information.
