Police identify man killed in rock climbing fall

LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON — A Salt Lake City man in his twenties died Sunday afternoon after he fell while rock climbing in Little Cottonwood Canyon, police said.

Mason Boos, 25, was rock climbing at Gate Buttress when a rock broke, according to Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler.

"Our condolences to his family and friends," Cutler said in a statement on Monday.

No other details have been released.
