SALT LAKE CITY — A Salt Lake motel employee was critically injured with stab wounds suffered during an argument with a customer, police said.
Police were called to the Gateway Inn, 819 W. North Temple, about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The employee had been stabbed by someone described as a "resident" of the motel, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Dave Cracroft, and the employee had beaten the resident's face during the argument.
The employee was expected to go into surgery early Wednesday.
Police don't know how the argument started and have not yet been able to talk to both people involved. Investigators were reviewing security cameras at the business, Cracroft said.
