HARRISVILLE — A woman was transported early Saturday with injuries sustained in a shooting, Harrisville police said in a Facebook post.

At about 12:45 a.m. police responded to a Harrisville home after a 911 call was made by the injured woman, the post said. Police arrived to find a woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen. According to police, the woman told them it was an accident.

She was transported to the hospital and was treated for her injuries, which were not considered to be life-threatening, according to police.

The incident is under investigation and alcohol is being considered as a factor, police said.

The woman's identity was not released.
