SALT LAKE CITY — A man was critically injured in a stabbing in Salt Lake City Saturday morning, police said.
Officers responded to a report that a man was bleeding outside of a building on North Temple near 1000 West shortly before 7 a.m., according to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Lisa Pascadlo. She said they arrived at the scene and found a 30-year-old man had a "significant" stab wound to his lower extremity.
First responders reportedly provided "life-saving medical attention" to the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, before he was taken to a hospital in "critical but stable" condition, Pascadlo said. The man's name wasn't immediately released.
Pascadlo said officers aren't sure what may have led up to the stabbing and remained at the scene gathering information Saturday morning. While they do no not know who stabbed the man, she said she doesn't believe there is a risk to the general public.
