SALT LAKE CITY — Southbound I-15 is experiencing major delays at 400 South in Salt Lake City due to a crash, authorities said.
The crash took place just after 9 a.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation. Traffic cameras in the area showed a semitrailer on its side.
A passenger car lost control on the freeway and spun out in front of the semitrailer, according to the Utah Department of Transportation. The two vehicles collided and the truck landed on its side.

The driver of the truck suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, UHP said. The driver of the car was not injured.
Troopers are investigating if another car was involved that may have clipped the car and caused it to spin out. The truck was hauling paper products, UHP said.
As of 10 a.m., a right lane is blocked in the area. People are asked to use an alternate route. Earlier Thursday, all southbound lanes of the freeway were blocked.
The crash is expected to be cleared by 10:30 a.m., UDOT said.
