SALT LAKE CITY — An 80-year-old woman died on Tuesday after drowning in an apartment complex pool on the 600 North block of Oakley Street, according to Salt Lake City police.

Dispatchers received a call at 5 p.m. reporting that a woman was facedown in the pool, Salt Lake Police Sgt. Keith Horrocks said. Officers said that the woman arrived at the pool at about 3 p.m. and was alone for the time she was there.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. How and when the woman drowned is unknown, according to Horrocks.

The woman's identity was not released.
