TICABOO, Garfield County — Authorities have identified a 20-year-old woman who died Wednesday after the car she was in crashed and rolled in southern Utah.
The woman was identified as Addison C. Smith, of Edwards, Colorado, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 2 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 276 near Ticaboo, according to the highway patrol.
The Toyota Sequoia went off the road to the left. The driver then overcorrected to steer back onto the highway, causing the vehicle to roll and come to a stop upside down, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Smith, a passenger who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, the highway patrol said.
Two other occupants of the vehicle suffered critical injuries and were flown to a hospital by medical helicopter. Two other injured occupants were taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
All other occupants in the car, including the driver, were wearing seat belts, the UHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
