LOGAN — A man died Monday morning during a collision with a dump truck in Logan.

Police identified the victim as Adam J. Rounds, of Smithfield.

The crash took place about 8:40 a.m. at 1800 North and 1000 West when a sedan was attempting to turn south onto 1000 West, according to a statement from the Logan Police Department.

A large dump truck that was northbound on 1000 West crashed into the sedan in the intersection, police said. Rounds, who was driving the sedan, suffered fatal injuries.

"Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to his wife, children and all who knew him," Logan police posted on Facebook.

The dump truck driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Roads in the area were closed for several hours Monday as police investigated the crash, but reopened before noon., according to emergency officials.
