SALT LAKE CITY — A criminal charge was filed Tuesday against a Salt Lake man accused of stabbing another man and later asking for his knife back.
Carlos F. Lucero, 18, is charged in 3rd District Court with aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony.
On Saturday, police say Lucero walked into a shed near 1000 West and 1500 South where a woman was living and saw another man lying on her bed. The woman later told police that she and the victim are a couple, which allegedly angered Lucero. Lucero pushed her out of the way and began stabbing the man on the bed, according to charging documents.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to police, but was later listed as "stable." Lucero was arrested by police a short time later.
After the attack, charging documents say Lucero sent several texts to the woman, including a picture of his bloody hands and messages stating, "I would die ... and kill for you," followed by, "Can I get my knife back tho??"
