BIG WATER, Kane County — A man died after his vehicle rolled, ejecting him from the vehicle, on U.S. 89 just north of the Arizona-Utah border early Sunday morning, said Utah Highway Patrol.

According to a Utah Highway Patrol statement, at about 12:30 a.m. Kane County troopers received reports of a single-vehicle crash on the highway just north of the Arizona-Utah border.

Troopers' preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of the 1998 Dodge Durango was traveling southbound when it left the right side of the roadway, said the statement. The vehicle came back onto the road and then over-corrected again to the right, causing the vehicle to roll.

The male driver was ejected from the vehicle when it began to roll, according to the statement. The vehicle came to a stop, resting on its top, and blocking the southbound lane of travel.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement. The driver was the only person in the car.

The southbound lane of travel was closed for approximately three hours.

Further information, including the identity of the driver, was not released.
