OGDEN — An Ogden woman was charged Monday with attacking another woman with an ax.

Sierra Michelle Flores, 25, is charged in 2nd District Court with attempted murder and aggravated burglary, both first-degree felonies; and aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.

About 10 p.m. Friday, police say Flores got into an argument over the phone with another woman. When the phone call was over, Flores drove to the woman's house, "where she unlawfully entered the home with an ax," according to charging documents.

The victim attempted to defend herself with a baseball bat.

"Sierra attempted to hit the victim with the ax by raising it overhead and swinging it down in a chopping motion. The victim was able to stop the attack by holding the bat sideways over her head," the charges state.

After hitting the bat, the ax fell to the ground. But Flores picked it back up and "hit the victim multiple times in the head and face with the handle of the ax. During the assault, the victim shouted to a witness that Sierra was going to kill her," according to the charges.

A third person was able to separate the two women. Police say the victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, though the extent of her injuries was not disclosed in charging documents.
