SALT LAKE CITY — A South Jordan woman was charged Thursday with shooting and killing her husband.
Emilee Petersen Fisher, 47, is charged in 3rd District Court with murder, a first-degree felony, in addition to three counts of shooting someone causing serious injury, also a first-degree felony; two counts of discharge of a firearm, a second-degree felony and a third-degree felony; and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony.
The incident happened on March 19 at a mattress business in South Salt Lake, 583 W. Billinis Road.
"Emilee Fisher told dispatchers that she had shot her husband, that he was dead, and that she had to shoot him through the glass. Fisher also stated that he had come after her," according to charging documents.
Ronald Fisher, 66, was found deceased on the sidewalk next to the front door, the charges state.
"The glass to the front door of the business was shattered and much of the glass was on the sidewalk outside of the door. It appeared that Ronald had been shot from inside the business through the glass door of his business, while Ronald Fisher was standing outside of the business," according to the charges. "Inside of the business, officers located six spent shell casings on the floor, and a black handgun on a bed in the bedroom located in the business."
Police found another man hiding in a nearby dumpster. He told investigators that he was in the business with Emilee Fisher when Ronald Fisher arrived and confronted him about being with his wife, the charges state.
According to a police affidavit, the man told officers that Ronald Fisher was staying in a bedroom at the business and that he and Emilee Fisher had stayed there the night before when Ronald Fisher returned.

A woman was arrested Saturday after she told police she shot her husband the night before.The man ran out the door out of fear that "something was going to go down," but admitted to detectives that Fisher did not threaten him, assault him and that he did not see Fisher holding a weapon, according to the charges.
The affidavit also says the man told police "that he knew this was going to happen. (He) did not go into any more detail as to why he knew this was going to happen."
Police say Emilee Fisher told them the other man was not present when her husband arrived.
Fisher was previously convicted in U.S. District Court of wire fraud, which restricted her from possessing a firearm, court documents state.
Ronald Fisher also spent many years in federal prison for first operating an elaborate check-kiting scheme while pretending to be a multimillionaire. He was later sentenced to an additional seven years in federal prison in 2011 in a wire fraud scheme. Fisher later claimed he father was the founder of the Gap Inc. clothing stores.
