SALT LAKE CITY — One person has died after being hit twice at South Main Street and East Coatsville Avenue on Monday night, said Salt Lake City police.
According to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Steve Wooldridge, witnesses told police that the individual was hit twice and indicated they had been in the crosswalk. Wooldridge said that the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition where they later died of their injuries.
Police are unsure of the direction of traffic. Wooldridge said that Salt Lake police are looking for two vehicles, described as a black GMC and a black pickup truck.
Investigators are headed to the scene and will conduct a full investigation, according to Wooldridge.
Salt Lake City police are asking anyone who saw the incident or has additional information to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000.
