OUTSIDE — How much fiction and how many childhood fantasies involve a boy and his dog?

Fido, Rufus, Patches, Spot — no matter the name, the feeling is the same. It's a pure friendship and pure love. Nothing can beat a good ol' loyal dog that protects you, is supremely loyal to you, and plays endless games of fetch.

It's an idyllic image that can't be wrenched out of the minds of many human beings no matter what. Well, I'm sorry (not sorry) to show you that everything you believe about dogs might be a lie.

Meet Zach, a 5-year-old, and Zeke, his golden retriever.

The video starts off simply enough. Zeke has a stick in his mouth and Zack has another stick in his hand. Equal shares for all.

Then Zach starts to run with his stick. This is when Zeke gets greedy. He can't stand to watch a stick get away. So he drops his stick and chases Zach, mowing him over without a second thought in order to grab Zach's stick.

Now Zeke has two sticks, Zach has none, and the boy is flat-faced on the ground in shock and horror.

The reason that I'm not sorry to show you this is that it is absolutely hilarious. Even though it shows that the boy-dog bond isn't always as cracked up as we think it is. And the boy and his family think so too, if the laughter in the video is any indication.
