SOUTH SALT LAKE — A woman is dead after she was hit by a car early Sunday morning.

According to South Salt Lake police spokeswoman Danielle Croyle, a vehicle was driving south on 3280 S. 900 West when it hit a woman walking along that same road at around 3:30 a.m. Croyle said that officials are unsure if she was walking on the road.

The victim, identified as Lark Anderson, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle and is currently cooperating with police.

The investigation is ongoing, although speed is not considered a factor.
