MURRAY — An altercation outside of a smoke shop in Murray resulted in one woman being shot Saturday afternoon, authorities say.

At approximately 2:17 p.m., an incident occurred outside of a smoke shop near 4500 South and 300 West, Murray Police Sergeant Ross Huff said. The details of the exchange are not yet known, Huff said, but the investigation is ongoing and multiple witnesses are being interviewed.

The woman was shot once and is in fair condition but was taken into surgery, Huff stated. The woman's identity will not be released until the investigation is complete.

Police are expected to release additional information, including details on the suspect, in the coming days.
