CEDAR CITY — A man is dead after being struck by a car Monday night in Cedar City in what police believe was an intentional hit-and-run.

On Monday evening around 7 p.m., officers received a call about a pedestrian who had been hit by a gray/silver older model Dodge Stratus in the Home Depot parking lot located at 1518 S. Providence Center Drive. Police believe the driver of the vehicle, which had no license plates, purposely struck a man with the car before fleeing the scene.

Officers provided medical help to the injured man on scene before EMS arrived. The man, a 37-year-old Cedar City resident, was transported to the Cedar City Hospital where he died. His identity was not released.

The vehicle's driver is possibly an adult white male with dark hair who wore a bandanna covering his face, officials said. The passenger rear tire of the vehicle was either a spare tire or was missing the hubcap.

If you have seen the vehicle or have any information, police are asking you to call 911 or Cedar Communications at 435-586-2955.
