PLAIN CITY, Weber County — Fire officials are searching for some bystanders who they say saved a woman’s life by pulling her out of a burning car in Plain City on Friday morning.

Authorities responded to a rollover crash that started a fire, according to a Facebook post from the Plain City Fire Department. Flames spread to trees and brush near the crash site.

A woman was trapped inside the car, but a group of bystanders stopped and pulled her out of the burning car.

“We are so grateful to them for risking their own safety for a stranger,” the Facebook post said.

The woman suffered a large burn injury, as well as some trauma injuries from the crash, but the bystanders likely saved her life by pulling her out of the car, the post said.

She was transported to a hospital via a medical helicopter. She was not identified.

Further details about the situation, including an exact time or address where the crash occurred, were not given. The fire has been put out.

If anyone knows who the bystanders are, the fire department would like to contact them, the post said.
