OGDEN — A Weber County man was charged Monday with using a Walmart photo center to print pornographic images he said he was sending to people locked up.
John David Hughes, 32, of West Haven, is charged in 2nd District Court with pornography distribution, a third-degree felony.
On May 28, witnesses at Walmart, 1959 Wall Ave. in Ogden, said that a man appeared to be “printing off pornographic images at Walmart photo center.” Using store surveillance video, police were able to identify the man as Hughes — who has distinguishable neck and head tattoos — and were able to track him down on Sunday, according to charging documents.
Hughes told police he was “printing off the pornographic pictures to ‘send to the homies who were locked up,’” the charges state.
Hughes’ lengthy criminal history includes being convicted of unlawful sexual activity with a minor in 2009, making him a registered sex offender.
