(KSL News) -- Weather was not the only thing slowing drivers down in Farmington this afternoon.
A semi on I-15 noticed fire in the back of the truck and pulled off the exit to Highway 89. Then at one point some of the wheels and an axle broke off.
A sheriff's deputy and the driver extinguished the fire before crews could arrive.
The truck holds 41-hundred gallons of diesel fuel and four to five hundred spilled.
Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the malfunction and the health department is assesing the cleanup necessary.
