SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Authorities have arrested an inmate who was mistakenly released from jail earlier this week.
The Utah Department of Corrections says Shawn Lavern Martin, 37, was arrested late Thursday in Salt Lake County. He was mistakenly released from the Davis County jail on Tuesday.
Martin is serving a sentence of up to five years on three counts of third-degree felony theft.
Martin had been housed at the county jail since August. He was originally scheduled for release on Tuesday, but the parole date was rescinded pending new criminal charges and related court appearances.
He has been sent to the Utah State Prison.
