SANDY, Utah (AP) -- Craig Kanada shot a 1-under par 71 Sunday and won his first Nationwide Tour event, winning the Utah EnergySolutions Championship by a stroke.
Kanada sunk a 3-foot par putt on the 18th hole to clinch the victory and hold off Michael Putnam, who shot a 64 Sunday at the par-72 Willow Creek Country Club and finished in a four-way tie for second place at 273 for the tournament.
"To finally win one is absolutely amazing," said Kanada, 37, who has tied for second five times but never won on the tour.
Kanada overtook Arkansas Bryce Molder on Sunday and finished at 16-under for the tournament. Molder was part of the four-way tie for second after shooting a 75 on Sunday. Ken Duke, Gavin Coles and Putnam were the others sharing second place.
