A tale of two Utah troops, their families proud of their service, both return as heroes to their communities. One lives to serve again, the other pays the ultimate sacrifice.
While the ideological struggle over the war in Iraq continues nationwide, two Wasatch Front communities showed their support for their soldiers. Two families who sacrificed for service face very different futures.
Utah soldier Dan Dolan was buried in Roy today, two weeks after he was killed serving in Iraq. He was shot by Iraqi insurgents last week during a road side bombing.
The 19-year-old joined the Army right out of high school last spring.
Tim Dolan: "He was a fabulous son. I was so proud of him. He is my hero."
The Dolan family expected their son home later this month to celebrate his 20th birthday. Many emotions gripped the family.
Fay Dolan, Mother: "Love of country love for your son. And you start to realize what a great community Roy is."
Dolan's family received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart on his behalf.
A Sandy neighborhood welcomed home a native son last night and thanked US Air Force Staff Sergeant Rolando Zuniga for his service. US Air Force Staff Sergeant Rolando Zuniga served four tours of duty in Iraq and the Middle East.
When he got home and saw his street lined with American flags, he was stunned.
Staff Sergeant Rolando Zuniga, U.S. Air Force: "It makes me feel good about what I do. Just doing my job, just doing what I signed up to do."
He returned to his wife, daughter and his two month old son Christopher who was born while he was gone.

Dana Zuniga, Wife: "I'm glad he's home and safe. It's great to see everybody come out and support this. I think a lot of our troops need to see this and know that our country supports them."
Staff Sergeant Zuniga says he's excited to relax and spend time with his family. The Dolans say they will find peace in family and community support.
