CLEARFIELD, Utah (AP) -- A woman is recovering this morning after her wrists were slashed during a domestic dispute.
It happened Wednesday night on Lynnwood Drive In Clearfield. Police say the woman was reportedly attacked with a large kitchen knife at her parents' home.
The woman told police her estranged boyfriend cut her wrists and fled. Police later caught up with 29-year-old Trinidad Antonio Elizalde in Ogden.
He was then arrested and booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and terroristic threats.
Authorities say the man, an undocumented immigrant who was recently deported to Mexico, will likely face federal charges.
