(KSL News) -- The ads all focus on food, and it's already being prepared for the masses. One thing you won't be able to eat, however, is the prized produce.
Nancy Sheeno is helping the vegetable judges. "I think it's just size and things like that. If it's got any strange little bumps like that. Conformity."
Among other activities at the fair are bands, eating competitions, and the rotten sneaker contest.
Today's hours are 3 pm to 10 pm. Regular hours will be 10 am to 10 pm, except Fridays and Saturdays when the fair will be open 10 am to 11 pm.
The fair runs through September 17th. The fairgrounds are located at 155 N. 1000 West.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for kids 6- to- 12 years old, and free for children 5 and under.
When you're there, check out the KSL booth with the interactive Live 5 Weather display in the Promontory building. You'll be able to experience what it's like to be presenting the weather on KSL.
